As we enter our 51 st fall as your Hometown Jeweler, we at Roper's Jewelers are reminded that with that kind of longevity comes certain change. Sometimes the changes are small and sometimes the changes are significant, like when one of the gems of our store family retires. We begin this fall with Carolyn Scheave's retirement in the forefront of our minds.

Carolyn has been a devoted Roper's employee for 17 years. For many of our customers and friends Carolyn's face is the one they associate with all of their jewelry experiences. She has been a longtime family friend, and she came to work at the Downtown store in the fall of 1990. Carolyn and her winning smile have been greeting customers and fulfilling their jewelry dreams ever since. Although we will all miss her cheerful greetings and her optimistic outlook, we must remember that change is not a bad thing.
Taking over the Store Manager duties at the Downtown store is Linda Parkhurst. Linda has been with Roper's Jewelers for a year and a half, though she has over 30 years of experience in the jewelry industry. Linda's previous experiences have prepared her well for the role she is stepping into. She and her husband owned a jewelry store in Grass Valley , California , and she has held sales positions and manager positions in the jewelry industry as well. Linda brings a wealth of knowledge and a love of jewelry to the Roper's Jewelers family.
In the past year and a half Linda has met and formed relationships with many of our wonderful customers. When asked why she loves the jewelry industry so much she replied, "I enjoy helping people with a design they're thinking of, and assisting them in making their concept a reality. When I hand them the finished piece and see how happy it makes them, it makes all the effort worthwhile".
Though we will miss Carolyn, we wish her well in her retirement and we welcome Linda to her new position. Stop by the Downtown store and introduce yourself, and see for yourself why we call Linda Parkhurst "one of the gems of Roper's Jewelers". |
